PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
WELCOME TWIN FALLS REPUBLICAN WOMEN AND ASSOCIATES:
Dear Republican Friends:
Whew...what a month! The Twin Falls Republican Women have been quite busy to say the least. We have accomplished so much since January...planning for Lincoln Day Celebration 2012...helping with the Caucus...getting ready to celebrate selecting Idaho's Republican Presidential Candidate...helping Republican Candidates, vetting Republican Candidates for the upcoming primary and the November election...there is still so much to be done!
I have to say on the last note, however, that I want to be perfectly honest with each and every one of you. Would any of you expect less of me? I don't understand something. We have over 4,000 registered Republican voters in Twin Falls County,we are the reddest of the reddest counties, if not THE reddest county. Then, when I see 1,200 hundred people lined up to see and hear Ron Paul come to the Roper Auditorium...and when you ask yourself why only 50 people attend TFCRW and TFRCC meetings on a regular basis; and then only 240 Republicans came to our Lincoln Day Celebration to hear a nationally acclaimed pollster, Scott Rasmussen, talk about these presidential candidates- I again have to wonder and ask myself-WHERE AND THE HECK IS EVERYONE? Don't get me wrong. I am thankful to those of you who did come to our LDC2012. Thankful to those who gave your time, energy and your resources to help the GOP raise funds so that we may continue to work on things like opening (we have to rent an office) our GOP election HQ's a month earlier than usual. Or pay our dues to the Idaho GOP HQ's. Or send Republican Women to conferences and meetings; educate our young by giving scholarships and educational materials; and help with charities, et. But it appears to me that so many of you are sitting on the sidelines or the fence...just sitting back and hoping that America will fix herself...is that it? Well my friends, I have news for you. It's not that easy! She will not repair herself of the damage that has been done. The cancer that has grown inside her borders over the last 60 years or so (and if not longer) is spreading rapidly. There is not much time left until she withers away to nothing. We must eradicate the cancer growing inside her...cut it out completely. Only then will she heal from the scars of the surgery. Do you think surgeons go in and cut up a person without meticulous planning? No..they do not! Like a great surgeon, we must plan our move...we must work to achieve the desired results. It is not going to be easy. In fact, some polls have us already losing the game. (Are you giving up??) Because of the back biting, back stabbing, and the negative advertising from the multi-million dollar PAC'S...the Republican Presidential Primary & Caucus process has left ALL candidates standing in a negative light. Instead of focusing on the real and important issues, they continue to degrade each other. We are playing right into Obama's hands...and he is sitting back and enjoying the show. All the while, we continue to get deeper and deeper into debt, and he continues on to those lavish vacations, living an extravagant lifestyle and all on borrowed money! NO wonder you all are hiding away (not all, but a huge majority) ! I would want to bury my head in the proverbial sand too! But I know that we cannot. Gretchen McClelland, Chairman of the TFRCC knows that she cannot. Doriene Knight, President of the IFRW also knows that she can not stop working or trying to make things better. And the list of leadership goes on and on...and they too know that they must not stop working to achieve our desired values and goals. We all get self-consumed at times, but it is that "higher" self that we must work to attain.
I am asking each and every one of you to give a little of yourself for your country, your city, and your state. A small portion will do...or any thing that you can give. A dollar (we have a donation button on our website)...an hour...two hours at a meeting once a month! Anything. Have you yet renewed your dues? That's a start. Help us grow and spread the word..the word that we as a nation may not be able to take four more years of socialism. Because frankly, that is what it is. Socialism has infiltrated our lives to the very heart of us...our beloved America. We have taken God from our schools, workplaces and even our homes. We have forgotten who and what has made us a great nation-a nation under God. She can be healed...and you can help heal her!
Thank you to the brave men and women who are our leaders, trudging forward to heal and repair our beloved America! Also, thank you to those of you who are the ones who continue to work hard, participate in our local Republican meetings and activities and to those of who who have dedicated yourself to helping reverse the horrible damage that has been done to this Country. You may not be told often enough...but you are important to us and we do thank you for your service and dedication!
